OPEN AUDITIONS

FOR ACTORS, SINGERS, DANCERS & MUSICIANS
AGES 6-21

Note: Everyone must participate in all 3 phases of the audition process.  We don't expect you to be an expert, but you have to try.  It's all about energy and a positive attitude. 

Phase 1 - Drama:
 
Youth will participate in an individual drama session. 
They will be required to read a short monologue/script. 
(Youth are NOT required to memorize the monologue/script but it is encouraged.)  
They will be judged on their ability to read, articulate and portray a character.

Phase 2 - Vocal:
 
Youth will participate in an individual vocal session immediately following the monologue reading. 
They will be required to perform one (1) song. 
(Youth may use their own music or sing a cappella.)
A list of song choices will be provided upon arrival however, any song may be performed.  Lyrics will not be provided. 
Youth will be judged on pitch, tone, stage presence and overall vocal ability.

Phase 3 - Dance:
 
Youth will be asked to perform a solo “freestyle” dance routine. 
They will be judged on overall movement and stage presence.
(Youth may use their own music on an Apple or Android device.  No CDs.)


Phase 4 - Band*: Singers and Musicians (ages 13-21 only*)

 notification will be made via phone.

OPTION# 2
PRIVATE AUDITION 
 
Private auditions are by appointment only!
For an appointment please submit a short video displaying your talent to:

or
send a video message on Facebook
(send as a private message, not as a wall post)
 
Videos must include:
1. Introduction: tell us your name, age, school, how you heard 
about Encore and why you want to be a part of the Ensemble Cast.

2. Dance routine (at least 30 seconds of any style of dance)

3. Sing a song (at least 30 seconds WITHOUT music)

 - Your video will be reviewed and you will be contacted 
if we wish to schedule an in-person audition.
 - Due to the high volume of inquiries you will only be contacted if we wish to schedule an in-person audition.
 - Videos become the property of Encore Performing Arts Center Inc.
